Nearly 300 Vietnamese citizens were trapped because Covid-19 in Russia returned home, landed in Can Tho and was put in a concentration isolation facility.

The flight was carried out by the authorities and the Vietnam National Airlines in cooperation with the Russian side on July 8-9, according to a statement issued today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

To ensure the health of citizens, prevent the spread of disease, the airline has strictly taken measures of security, safety and epidemiological hygiene during the flight.

This is the second time Vietnam has organized a flight to bring citizens from Russia to avoid the epidemic, after the first flight on 12/5.

Based on the citizens' wishes, the capacity of local isolation and the evolution of epidemics, Vietnamese authorities will continue to deploy commercial flights to bring citizens back to Vietnam during the period.
