The Myanmar army this morning raided state Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi, President Win Myint and senior officials in the ruling party of the National Coalition for Democracy (NLD) in response to charges of "fraud.

Myanmar's military said it was forced to trigger a state of emergency for a year, after "electoral fraud" issues were not resolved and blocked the path to democracy.

Some sources said that Myanmar's military commanders and government officials negotiated on January 31, but failed to reach results, as the government rejected the military's request to postpone the first session of parliament.
