60% of people living in Life Care Center in Kirkland were identified as positive for nCoV after the outbreak of Covid-19 a week ago.

A University of Washington testing facility confirmed 31 of 53 Life Care Center's 53 elderly people infected with nCoV, said Timothy Killian, a spokesman for the nursing home, March 9. He added all 53 people had been sampled for testing, but only 35 results were returned, including 31 positive cases, one negative and three inconclusive cases.

Killian hopes the remaining results will be announced as soon as possible, and said that its employees have not been tested for nCoV.

The Life Care Center accounts for 19 of 22 nCoV-related deaths in Washington state. Killian said public health officials have not yet identified the source of nCoV infection in the facility.

Officials asked Life Care to only move their residents to the hospital if they developed severe symptoms, such as a fever above 38 degrees Celsius. On March 9, seven people showed symptoms of nCoV infection but none Move to hospital due to a serious condition.

Before Covid-19 broke out, this facility had 120 elderly people and 180 employees. The facility's 70 employees also show symptoms of illness and are required to stay home temporarily.
