Covid-19 appeared in 76 countries and territories, causing 90,433 people to be infected with nCoV, including 3,118 deaths, an increase of 66 cases compared to yesterday.
The number of nCoV infections in South Korea, Italy and Iran continues to rise sharply. South Korea currently records 4,335 cases and 28 deaths, while Italy is 2,036 and Iran is 1,501.
China National Health Commission (NHC) today said the country recorded 125 new cases of nCoV, the lowest increase since January 21. There were an additional 31 deaths, all in the Hubei epidemic center.
World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the number of new cases outside China was "nearly nine times higher" than the number of new cases detected in the country yesterday.
Iran is also the country with the second highest number of deaths in the world, only after China, with 66 deaths from nCoV. The hardest hit areas from Covid-19 include the capital Tehran, Qom province in the central region and Gilan province in the north. Iran is seen as a global threat as many nCoV cases in neighboring countries and Canada are related to this country.
Italy recorded the first cases of nCoV on January 31 and is the largest outbreak in Europe. Many countries and territories have urged their citizens to avoid this country. Portugal, Iceland and the Principality of Andorra yesterday recorded the first cases of nCoV infection, most of whom returned from Italy.
The world currently records 90,433 cases, 3,118 deaths and 48,110 people recovered.
