Iran reported nearly 2,700 new nCoV infections, the highest in almost a month, warning all provinces had been hit by the second wave of infection.
Iranian Ministry of Health spokesman Sima Sadat Lari said today that the country had recorded 2,685 new nCoV cases in the past 24 hours, the highest since July 8, bringing the total number of cases nationwide to 309,437.
According to Lari, the situation of the disease is "worrying" in 25 out of 31 provinces and cities of Iran.
Lari warned residents not to move to Mazandaran, a popular tourist area in northern Iran, where the number of nCoV infections has quadrupled in the past six weeks.
Official figures show a noticeable increase in the number of cases and deaths from nCoV since the end of June. As a result, the government has ordered mandatory masks to be worn in enclosed public spaces and provinces.
