Iranian officials said it was about to present to the United Nations evidence of the people behind the Sabiti oil tanker attack on 11/10.

"There is a lot of documentation and evidence of some governments intervening in the Iran oil tanker attack and we will submit them to the UN Security Council," said Abolfazl Hassan Beigi, a member of the Main Commission. Beigi mentioned that the Sabiti oil tanker was hit by two rockets on the afternoon of October 11 off the coast of Saudi Arabia, saying the camera on the oil tank had pointed out the culprits are the three countries that are having a feud with Iran. He also warned the people behind the attack would pay for this action.

On the same day, Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani also vowed to draw conclusions about the attack and the instigators would "regret their actions".

The tanker Sabiti, owned by the Iranian National Oil Company (NIOC), was attacked on Oct. 11 while in waters about 100 kilometers west of the Arabian port of Jeddah. The explosion damaged the hull and two oil tanks, causing oil spills in the Red Sea.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif called the attack "cowardice" and claimed it was sponsored by the government of one or more countries. Saudi Arabia denied any involvement in the attack, while the United States and Israel did not speak out about the issue.

The incident comes amid tensions in the Gulf region that remain high after a drone attack and cruise missiles targeting two key Saudi oil plants. The United States and many of its allies argue that Iran is behind the raid, while Tehran has denied any allegations.
