Iran called the US anti-epidemic offer "offensive," "hypocritical," as well as accusing the Trump administration of economic and medical terrorism.

"Instead of displaying feigned compassion and bragging, end economic and medical terrorism so that doctors and Iranians can have access to medicines and medical supplies," Press TV quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Abbas Mousavi today.

Mousavi declared that Iran does not need American doctors, adding that the Islamic Republic has some of the best and bravest doctors in the world.

During a meeting with the Irish Prime Minister at the White House on March 12, US President Donald Trump said the country was continuing to offer support to Iran. "We have the best doctors in the world, we ask to help Iran," Trump said.

Iran is currently the third largest epidemic region in the world, after China and Italy, but has a high mortality rate of more than 10%, while undergoing a series of US sanctions. The country recorded more than 11,000 cases of nCoV, of which more than 500 have died.

Tehran on February 26 issued a restraining order for people infected or suspected to be infected with nCoV. Iran also limits access to major Shiite Muslim pilgrimage sites, including the Imam Reza Temple in Mashhad City and the Fatima Masumeh Temple in Qom.
