Indonesian President Joko Widodo tested nCoV tonight after the country's Transport Minister was confirmed positive for the virus.
Many other Indonesian ministers have also conducted the test. Secretary of State Pratikno said on March 15 that Indonesian Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi was being treated at the intensive care ward of a military hospital in Jakarta after being positive for nCoV.
Sumadi on March 11 attended a cabinet meeting with President Widodo. He sat 4 people away from President Widodo on a round table. On the same day, Minister Sumadi also met with Dutch Minister of Water and Infrastructure Management Cora van Nieuwenhuizen-Wijbenga. Two people join the signing ceremony.
Indonesia detected the first case of nCoV on March 2 and has so far recorded 117 cases, 5 deaths and 8 recover. Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan ordered the closure of schools and tourist attractions of the city such as the Ragunan zoo and Ancol beach from next week. He emphasized that Jakarta is not blocked but urged people to raise their awareness of epidemic prevention, to avoid gathering or interacting with crowded people.
Many officials around the world have been infected with nCoV, including the Iranian Vice President, Iran's Deputy Health Minister, and Australia's Interior Minister. The wife of the Canadian Prime Minister and the wife of the Spanish Prime Minister are also positive for the virus.
Covid-19 appears in 155 countries and territories, causing more than 160,000 people to be infected, more than 5,900 deaths and more than 75,000 recover. The World Health Organization (WHO) on March 13 declared Europe to be a global Covid-19 mind.
