Indonesian President Joko Widodo asked state agencies to remove two civil servants and replace them with artificial intelligence by 2020.
Four levels of the Indonesian government agency will be streamlined to two levels over the next two years to cut bureaucracy, President Widodo made a statement in a meeting on November 28 with the leaders of the big company. in an effort to change the largest economic structure in Southeast Asia.
"I have asked Public Administration Reform and Bureaucracy Syafruddin to replace them with artificial intelligence (AI). Our administrative apparatus will operate more quickly with AI," the president said.
Widodo's plan needs to be approved by the Indonesian parliament. He did not disclose any details about which position in the government to be removed and how to apply technology in this plan.
The Indonesian president has a strong administrative reform plan to promote economic transformation. Widodo believes that the country should shift to a higher level of production, such as electric cars and use raw resources such as coal and bauxite in industrial activities instead of exporting abroad.
The conversion requires foreign investment and Widodo announced he would improve the business environment by amending dozens of overlapping regulations and overcoming bureaucracy.
The Indonesian government will submit to the National Assembly a review of two bills on tax reform and labor issues. Widodo, 57, was re-elected as Indonesian president in May. Political parties in the pro-alliance coalition control 74% of seats in Indonesia's parliament, making it easy for him to push through the law-making process.
