Hong Kong Justice Department leader Teresa Cheng was surrounded by a group of protesters as they prepared to attend the London event on the evening of November 14.

Ms. Cheng was on her way to the night of November 14 at a London event when a group of about 10 protesters was covered by her face. They shone a flashlight on Cheng, calling her a "killer," shouting slogans in support of the protest movement in Hong Kong.

The video recorded the incident showing that Ms. Cheng fell on the sidewalk later, but it was not clear whether it was pushed by protesters. The incident occurred when the head of the Hong Kong judiciary was on a trip to the UK to strengthen Hong Kong's role and find a solution to the protracted protests in the special zone.

After falling to the ground, Ms. Cheng stood up and was escorted away from the scene with no signs that she was injured.

However, Hong Kong Special District Chief Carrie Lam said today Cheng had "serious physical damage" after the incident and called the attack on the special zone chiefs "barbaric", "en. violating the principles of a civilized society "and called on British police to investigate the matter.

London police today said they were investigating allegations of the attack, but have not yet arrested anyone. The Chinese embassy in the UK said Ms. Cheng was pushed over and injured in her hand.

Cheng is one of the proponents of a revised extradition bill that allows extradition of crimes to jurisdictions where Hong Kong has not signed an extradition treaty, including mainland China. This bill has caused many Hong Kong people to take to the streets in early June to protest.

Although the special zone government announced the withdrawal of the bill, many people continued to protest, making other claims, including the request to investigate the use of force by police and Ms. Lam to resign.

The first protest took place only on weekends, after that all activities in the city returned to normal during the week. However, earlier this week, protesters repeatedly took to the streets, confronting violence with police, paralyzing the city of 7.4 million. Police on 11/11 forced to shoot real bullets made a protester critical.
