The North Rhine-Westphalia state of Germany rediscovered the entire district of Gueterloh, after discovering more than 1,500 cases of nCoV at the Rheda-Wiedenbruck meat factory cluster.

"For the first time in Germany, we bring an entire district back to the blockade measures that were applied a few weeks ago," said Armin Laschet, the Premier of the North Rhine-Westphalia state, today.

The blockade will affect 360,000 people and take effect until at least June 30.

The outbreak at the Rheda-Wiedenbruck plant was announced on June 17, causing the meat processing plant to be closed for 14 days since.

The plant is operated by Tonnies, the largest meat processing company in Germany.

Covid-19 has appeared in more than 210 countries and territories, causing more than 9.2 million infections and nearly 475,000 deaths.

Germany first imposed a blockade in March when the disease complicated in the country in particular and in Europe in general.

However, Chancellor Angela Merkel has repeatedly warned people not to be complacent before scientists find a viable vaccine.

In addition to the meat processing plant, Germany also recorded new outbreaks in residential buildings in Lower Sachsen and Berlin, where 370 families lived in isolated high-rise apartments last week.
