The French Ministry of Health believes that it is possible that the highly infectious nCoV strain from the UK has entered France although it has not been discovered.
"The new virus is quite likely to be invading all over France," French Health Minister Olivier Veran said on December 21, referring to the super-infectious virus from the UK that may have entered France.
British scientists believe that the new variant does not cause a more serious condition than the original, but it is 70% more contagious.
Many European neighbors with Britain such as France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Ireland and Bulgaria have issued strict bans or restrictions on British tourists.
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced last week that it is holding information on a new strain of nCoV appearing in more than 1,000 people in the UK, but there is no evidence that it works differently from other known strains.
He currently records more than 2 million infections, of which more than 67,000 are fatal from Covid-19.
