At least 7 people died after a fire at a hotel being used as a Covid-19 treatment facility in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.
"The fire happened at 5:00 am. About 22 patients were being treated at the facility when the incident occurred. We are evacuating the entire building," said Mohammad Imtiaz, Krishna district official, today.

Andhra Pradesh State Premier, Jagan Mohan Reddy, instructed officials to investigate the fire at the hotel.
"Some people who were trapped and injured were rescued and taken to a hospital. The fire is being controlled, but rescue and fire fighting is still going on," said Lakshmi, a local police officer.
At least 7 people were killed in the incident.
"The government guarantees all possible support to the state government. My condolences to families damaged during this time of grief. I wish the injured quickly recover," he said.
A fire also occurred in the intensive care area of a private hospital in the city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat state, western India on August 6, killing 8 Covid-19 patients.
Covid-19 has appeared in more than 210 countries and territories, causing more than 19.8 million people to become infected and nearly 730,000 people dead.
