Fauci says the new strain of nCoV that is spreading in the UK may have emerged in the US, but warns against overreacting.
"When you see a huge amount of virus spreading in a place like the UK, you really need to anticipate that it was here ... It's definitely not the strain that affected the most but I wouldn't be surprised to know it.
However, Fauci argues that the ban on visitors from the UK is "a little early" and "quite harsh", as many other countries have adopted the measure.
Fauci would not recommend halting flights from the UK if the issue was brought up during the meeting of the White House Covid-19 response group.
