US Karol Sachez, 16, admitted to New York police that she had staged a kidnapping scene in front of her mother because of the conflict.

The camera records the incident showing that Sachez and his mother were walking near East 156 in New York on the evening of December 16 when two men jumped out of the car, knocked the mother down, pushed the girl into the car and fled. On the afternoon of December 17, Sachez actively reported to the police about the incident and admitted he staged the "kidnapping" incident.

NYTimes quoted a New York police official as saying the incident could stem from a conflict between mother and child. A police official also described the mother "overly imposing", wanting to bring Sachez back to his homeland in Honduras but the teenager protested.

After being questioned at the New York police station, Sachez was released. Investigators are still determining what crime Sachez and the two men involved face.

The incident caused New York authorities to issue Amber alert, emergency warning about kidnapping of children on 17/12 and attracted media attention. The New York Police Department was happy for the safe return of the girl.

Idalmy Martinez, Sachez's aunt, said the family was investigating the cause of her granddaughter's actions, describing her as a happy, calm and friendly person with her mother.
