The statement came after the US intelligence community concluded in a report to the White House that China deliberately reported lower numbers of cases and deaths from nCoV. US intelligence concludes that Chinese statistics are false.

Covid-19 broke out in Wuhan, Hubei in late 2019. According to official data, China recorded more than 81,000 cases and more than 3,300 deaths. Meanwhile, the US has detected more than 200,000 cases, including more than 4,500 deaths, becoming the largest epidemic region in the world.

Ms. Hoa said that China was open and transparent about the pandemic in this country. "The comments of US officials are immoral, inhuman and will be condemned by people around the world," she said.

Speaking at a White House press conference on April 1, US President Donald Trump said that China's figures seemed lower than reality, but he was not "China's accountant" to count. US National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien also said that the US has no way to verify the data published by China.

Covid-19 has appeared in 203 countries and territories, causing more than 955,000 infected and nearly 49,000 dead. Since the outbreak in Wuhan, Hubei since December 2019, the Chinese government has made several changes to the statistics of cases and deaths.

In the latest change on April 1, Chinese officials announced that they would include asymptomatic cases of nCoV infection in daily statistics. China has recorded 1,367 people in this category.
