China recorded an additional 35 deaths from nCoV today, bringing the total number of deaths to 2,870 out of a total of 79,824.
The National Health Commission of China (NHC) today announced the country recorded 35 more deaths from nCoV, 47 fewer than yesterday, of which 34 were in Hubei, the Covid-19 epidemic. The total number of deaths in mainland China is currently 2,870.
Mainland China also recorded 573 new infections, of which 570 cases in Hubei, 148 more than yesterday, bringing the total number of infected people to 79,824, of which 41,625 were cured.
The world currently records 86,602 cases of nCoV infection, of which 2,977 deaths and 42,236 people have been cured.
China has frozen 56 million people in Hubei over the past month, taking unprecedented travel restrictions across the country in an effort to prevent the spread of nCoV. Chinese officials say the country has made progress in the fight against viruses, but anti-epidemic measures are still in place, including closing schools.
The Covid-19 epidemic broke out in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in China since December 2019 and has appeared in 64 countries and territories. South Korea is currently the second largest outbreak in the world, after mainland China, with more than 3,000 cases. Italy is the largest outbreak in Europe with more than 1,000 cases.
