The car carrying 52 migrants deliberately plunged into the border fence between the Moroccan border and the autonomous territory of Spain's Ceuta.
A bright white van on November 18 sprinting at full speed from the Moroccan territory crashed into the iron fence at the border gate leading into the Spanish city of Ceuta. The car was damaged in the first part by the impact of the collision and stopped only when it hit the nail fence arranged on the road, causing the front wheel to explode.
After the car stopped, many migrants burst out and fled into Spanish territory. The Spanish Civil Defense Force then arrested all 52 of these migrants and gathered them at the border.
Police identified the car with 34 men, 16 women, a 6-year-old child and a 5-month-old infant, mostly from Guinea, some of them citizens of Cote d'Ivoire and Congo.
Four of them were slightly injured by the stab and were hospitalized for treatment. A driver in his 30s, a Moroccan citizen living in France, was arrested.
Ceuta is an autonomous territory of Spain with a 6.4 km long border with the country of North Africa Morocco. Migrants from Africa often seek entry into the territory to seek asylum for the opportunity to enter Europe.
Interior Ministry spokesman Ceuta said the captured migrants would be sent to shelters while their asylum applications were reviewed.
