Sophie Gregoire, wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, is positive for nCoV, but still feels fine and has only mild symptoms.
"First, I would like to express my deep thanks to all those who have contacted and inquired about my health. Although I am experiencing uncomfortable symptoms due to the virus, I will soon be healthy again." , Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, who is quarantining at home, said in an announcement on March 12.
"Home isolation is nothing compared to Canadian families who may be experiencing the disease, as well as those who are facing more serious health problems," the statement said.
The Office of the Prime Minister of Canada also confirmed that Sophie was infected with nCoV, adding that Mr. Trudeau had not been tested yet because he was healthy and had no symptoms, but would have isolated himself for 14 days.
Earlier, Trudeau also announced he would quarantine himself because his wife had symptoms. She had just returned to Canada after a business trip in London, England, began to feel unwell on the evening of March 11 and immediately sought medical assistance.
Covid-19, started in China in December 2019, has appeared in nearly 130 countries and territories around the world, leaving more than 134,000 people sick and nearly 5,000 dead. Canada currently records more than 140 cases of nCoV and one death.
