The governor of California said he had called for help everywhere, from East Coast states even Australia, as 560 large and small wildfires continued to devastate the state.

Although it has mobilized nearly 12,000 firefighters across the state, California on August 21 still struggled to control wildfires in the northern region, which is booming and forcing many residents to leave their homes.

Governor Gavin Newsom on August 21 said at least 119,000 people have been requested to evacuate and fire officials are continuing to ask people along the river Russia, near the city of Santa Rosa, to quickly evacuate.

Wildfires have burned more than 312,000 hectares, largely due to two major fires in northern California.

At least five people were killed, including three people found in a destroyed home in rural Napa County and are currently unidentified.

The fires destroyed nearly 500 homes and other large buildings, including in Vacaville, Solano County, according to Cal Fire, the state fire department.

The third largest fire is called C.Z.U.

The San Francisco Bay Area National Weather Service official warned that wildfires would get more serious later this week, when lightning combined with high winds could cause new fires to explode rapidly.
