Since Beijing first reported the new case at the new Tan Phat Dia epidemic cluster on June 11, the total number of cases involving the food hub in the southwest of the city has increased to 297.

NHC also reported 4 more cases of imported cases, up from two cases a day ago.

New cases have rebounded after Beijing authorities said they had blocked blockades in seven apartment complexes since June 23 after residents were confirmed negative for nCoV.

Last week, the capital government took necessary steps to prevent the disease, including blockade of dozens of residential areas, closing nearby schools and kindergartens, disinfecting hundreds of food markets and putting in four large districts

Officials are also rushing to conduct extensive testing to find undetected nCoV infections.

The outbreak made Beijing the most serious outbreak in China since February, forcing 20 million residents who are preparing to return to normal life to face the stress they experienced four months ago.
