Media billionaire Bloomberg filed an application for presidential election with the US Federal Election Commission on November 21.

The fact that 77-year-old billionaire Michael Bloomberg files for office as a Democrat is the latest sign that the former New York mayor is ready to join the race for the White House in 2020.

Submitting the election application allows Bloomberg to raise funds for its campaign. However, a close aide of the billionaire said this was still a paper issue, not the final decision about his election to the presidency.

Bloomberg submitted an application to participate in the Democratic presidential primaries in Alabama at the end of November 8 and then submitted in Arkansas and Texas. The billionaire's personal adviser revealed that he also recently applied for preliminary voting in Georgia and Michigan.

Media tycoon Bloomberg announced on November 15 that pouring $ 100 million into an online advertising campaign against President Trump. The campaign targets voters in four states, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

With an estimated fortune of US $ 53.4 billion, Bloomberg is ranked 8th in the US by Forbes magazine and 17th in the world. If elected, Bloomberg will be a formidable rival of Trump when he owns more assets than the President of the United States and other famous media tycoons combined.
