The group of senior personnel announced by Biden, including people of color and women, will raise funds and conduct activities for the inauguration on January 20, 2021.
President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on November 30, announced the senior leadership group of the committee in charge of planning and implementing the inauguration ceremony.
This committee is responsible for fundraising and organizing the events of the day of its inauguration and pledges to give priority to "ensuring the safety of the people, preventing the Covid-19 epidemic while having full access to the public.
Tony Allen, who wrote a speech for Biden when he was a senator, will assume the role of chief executive officer of the inauguration.
Maju Varghese will serve as executive director of the committee.
Erin Wilson and Yvanna Cancela will serve as vice executives.
Cancela has supported Biden since the early days of the White House race and frequently appeared in his campaigns in the state of Nevada, where she was a senator.
The inauguration group for Biden and Harris consisted of both blacks and women.
It is still unclear whether President Donald Trump will attend Biden's inauguration.
"I hope the president will be present at the inauguration," Republican Sen. Roy Blunt, who oversees the inauguration, told CNN's "State of the Union" program.
According to the US Constitution, the inauguration of Biden will take place on 20/11.
While the preparations for Biden's inauguration take place in Washington, those responsible for planning the event are preparing for a completely different scenario from past inaugurations.
Biden's inauguration this year is expected to be smaller and event attendees will have to wear masks and keep a safe distance.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by no more than 1,600 people.
In the summer, Biden announced he did not want to wear a mask during his inauguration and one of his aides told CNN it was up to the president to be elected.
Another assistant said there would be no chorus behind Biden to perform during the inauguration.
