Malaysia: Helium-filled balloons exploded at a Ministry of Education sporting event in Putrajaya city, injuring 16 people on October 12.

The explosion was thought to have occurred when an event participant used a lighter to cut the string tying balloons. The fire caught a balloon before the entire cluster exploded, injuring 16 people, including 9 children.

"The balloons suddenly exploded with loud noise. I heard children crying and screaming.
