Myanmar police accused Aung San Suu Kyi of illegally entering communication equipment and she will be held until February 15 for investigation.

"We have reliable information that the Dakhinathiri court requested that Aung San Suu Kyi be kept for 14 days, from February 1 to February 15 with alleged import and export violations," said Kyi Toe, press secretary

A police document said that they discovered at least 10 radios that were illegally imported and used while searching Suu Kyi's home in Naypyidaw.

Kyi Toe said President Win Myint, who was also held by the military in the February 1 coup, was accused of violating the National Disaster Handling laws.

After the coup, General Min Aung Hlaing, the commander in chief of the Myanmar army, was given all power until new elections were held the following year.

The G7 foreign ministers, including Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the US, issued a joint statement expressing "deep concern" about the situation in Myanmar and urging the country's military to release those arrested.
