China Skater Csaba Burjan has to leave the Hungarian national team to return home after cursing for waiting in line at Shanghai airport.

Burjan arrived in Shanghai on December 2 to attend the world high-speed skating tournament, scheduled to open on December 6. After getting off the plane, the athlete had to queue for more than an hour to wait for customs clearance at Pudong International Airport, Shanghai, China.

Frustrated by the long wait, Burjan posted on Instagram a picture of a long line of people waiting for procedures, accompanied by a profanity in English aimed at the country of China. The photo immediately became the focus of criticism, indignation of Chinese network users.

Burjan quickly deleted the post and returned his Instagram account to private mode. "I'm deeply sorry about the post yesterday. I'm too tired after the long journey," Burjan said. However, this apology is not accepted.

Hungarian skating coach Zhang Jing, a Chinese citizen, said on Wednesday that Burjan had to return home and be removed from the national team. She also applied to resign, but the Hungarian National Skating Federation did not accept and was negotiating with her.

The federation said Burjan apologized to Zhang and that the association was conducting disciplinary action against the athlete. It is unclear whether Burjan will return to the national team after the tournament.

At the 2018 Winter Olympics, Burjan helped win the first gold medal for the Hungarian national skating team when winning the 5,000-meter relay race. The next Winter Olympics will take place in China.
