Diana Adama, an American teacher in Wuhan, fears when the city is isolated but will not leave here to avoid spreading the pneumonia virus.

Adama just moved to Wuhan City, Hubei Province, where about 1,000 Americans live, three months after 15 years in China. She said people here are feeling isolated and cut off from the rest of the world due to an outbreak of strange pneumonia.

56 people have died and nearly 2,000 people in China have been infected by a new strain of the corona virus (nCoV), as the epidemic continues to spread throughout Asia and other countries around the world, including USA and France. The Chinese government has imposed indefinite restrictions on public transport and vehicles in Hubei Province in an unprecedented effort to limit the spread of the virus.

"I woke up feeling quite hopeless, sad and angry. It was mostly due to lack of information and ignorance of what was going on," Adama said.

Despite her fears, she had no plans to leave Wuhan on an evacuation flight organized by the US State Department.

"Now I can't go, I won't go. Because if I carry the virus, I won't endanger anyone else. Be more careful than make mistakes," she said.

On January 23, the State Department asked non-essential employees and their families to leave Hubei to avoid the outbreak. The US government signed a contract with a shipping company to evacuate about 30 diplomats and citizens leaving Wuhan on a charter flight on January 28.

The US Embassy in Beijing said the flight would fly directly to the city of San Francisco and prioritize those "at high risk of corona virus", due to limited seats. A source revealed that American officials were puzzled between the narrow-body Boeing 737 and wide-body Boeing 767. The flight will include a medical team ready to treat anyone who is ill.

The United States today confirmed the third case of nCoV virus infection. The patient has traveled from Wuhan to Orange County, California, currently in isolation at a local hospital and in good condition, according to the Orange County Health Department. Two other cases of pneumonia in the US have been identified in Washington and Illinois.
