The US deployed U-2S reconnaissance aircraft near the North Korean border to increase surveillance after Pyongyang tested a supersonic jet cannon.
Data on the Aircraft Spots tracking site today shows that US U-2S reconnaissance aircraft, 80-1069, operates at an altitude of more than 15,000 m in the skies of Seoul, part of Gangwon Province and Chungcheong Province, North Korea.
US aircraft appeared just a few days after the North Korean test of super-large jet guns and coastal defense drills. Washington recently deployed modern reconnaissance aircraft to the Korean peninsula to monitor Pyongyang's moves.
The US Department of Defense and the North Korean military have not commented on this information.
U-2 "Dragon Lady" is a US-developed reconnaissance plane during the Cold War, which began its mission in the 1950s. The aircraft is equipped with a variety of photographic and signal intelligence equipment (SIGINT) ), ensuring the ability to monitor the enemy in all weather conditions, day and night.
Thanks to a series of modernization upgrade programs, U-2 remains an important component of US military operations worldwide.

North Korea tested two super-large jet artillery shells from Yeonpo test ground in South Hamgyong province, east of the country on the afternoon of November 28. This is North Korea's 13th weapons test this year, the fourth large rocket test since the launch of the system.
The stable flight trajectory and the shorter throw distance show that this weapon is gradually completed and may soon be put into service, according to experts.
