Amazon Technologies Group filed a complaint, saying Trump pressured the Pentagon to help rival Microsoft receive a $ 10 billion contract.
"The president attacked openly and behind the scenes to prevent the contract from being awarded to Amazon. His goal was to harm Jeffrey P. Bezos, a potential political opponent," Amazon technology group said in a statement. The complaint filed with the US Federal Court of Complaint was published today.
Amazon accuses US President Donald Trump of imposing "unsuitable pressure" on the Pentagon, forcing the US military to eliminate Amazon and choose rival Microsoft to implement the Joint Business Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) package. worth 10 billion USD.
JEDI aims to change the cloud computing system of the US military within 10 years, is a competition between Microsoft, Amazon and some major competitors such as IBM, Oracle and Google. Only Microsoft and Amazon can meet the requirements of the US Department of Defense, of which Amazon is considered the leading candidate for this contract.
The bidding package was later given to Microsoft, raising suspicions that Trump had his own impact against Amazon, especially after the White House owner expressed hostility to billionaire Bezos, the founder of the group.
President Trump on July 19 requested a contract investigation, saying he had received "a lot of complaints about the agreement between the Pentagon and Amazon". The US Department of Defense concluded that Amazon was not a conflict of interest, but assessed that Microsoft was more capable of executing this package than its competitor.
Pentagon chief information technology Dana Deasy also denied that Trump and the White House had an impact on the JEDI bidding process during a congressional testimony.
