Iranian officials announced three more people tested positive for nCoV, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to five.
"Two people positive for corona pneumonia (Covid-19) in Qom and another in Arak, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Iran to five," Iranian Ministry of Health spokesman Kianush Jahanpur said today. newspaper, said the entire population of this country and including a doctor.
A spokesman for Jahanpur said Iranian health officials called for a halt to religious services in Qom, a holy city with Shiite Muslims and located 120 km south of Tehran.
Two elderly Iranians died in a hospital in Qom on February 19, hours after being confirmed to be infected with corona virus. It is not clear from where these two people were spread. Mohammad Mehdi Gouya, the head of the infectious disease division of the Iranian Ministry of Health, says they have never been abroad.
The Covid-19 outbreak started in Wuhan, Hubei province, China in December 2019, and appeared in 28 countries and territories. There are currently more than 75,600 people infected, at least 2,130 dead, 16,342 recover and 12,064 critical patients. Some nCoV deaths have been recorded outside of mainland China, including Japan, France, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Iran.
