Data released today shows that the number of new infections in Germany has decreased by 146 cases compared to yesterday and is the third consecutive reduction day.

In response to the epidemic, Germany has decided to extend the order to close schools, restaurants, bars, cinemas and other recreational activities at least until April 20. People are not allowed to leave their homes unless there is a special reason such as shopping for supplies or medical visits. Germans were prohibited from gathering more than two people and were asked to keep a distance of 1.5 meters from each other. Localities have the right to fine people who violate the Covid-19 prevention measures.

Chancellor Merkel, just ended a two-week quarantine on April 3. She said there was "a little hope" for Germany as the daily number of new cases and deaths from nCoV slowed compared to a few days ago. However, she stressed that it was too early to recognize the development trend of the disease as well as the time to relax the control measures.

Chief of Staff Helge Braun, on April 4, said the country had not yet reached the peak of the epidemic and "the time of the highest number of cases is still ahead."

Covid-19 has appeared in more than 200 countries and territories with the focus of the US and European countries, after starting from China in December 2019. Globally, more than 1.2 million people are infected and nearly 66,000 die from nCoV.
